Our shop rides are great fun and an awesome way to meet new riders
We are very lucky to be central to many excellent cycling routes for cyclocross, road bikes, hybrids and the excellent MTB trails at Afan Forest Park.
For roadies there are many options, you can take in the coastal route from Porthcawl, through Port Talbot and Swansea, over to Mumbles and down to the Gower or if you like things steeper you can head north up the Neath valley and climb the Rhigos or take your pick from any number of awesome climbs! If chaingang is your thing, the Port Talbot bypass road is a very popular option, you'll often find the Port Talbot Wheelers training there.
If you like cross country mountain biking, you really are spoilt for choice because there are miles and miles of fireroads and natural singletrack to explore on the mountains behind Port Talbot with routes for all levels of fitness and hundreds of options to link them all up!
Afan Forest park is only a short ride away up the Afan valley with trails for all abilities from green up to black, all completely free to ride - There are also interesting ways to link these trails up to much longer rides taking in the trails at the Garw valley and Margam park.
We have ridden these routes for years and we have weekly organised shop rides (both road and MTB) where new people are welcome. We post details of our shop rides on our Strava Group they are very popular, free, friendly and fun. You can just turn up on the day, bring your bike, a drink and a helmet. It's worth checking first to see if the ride that day is a road ride or an MTB ride.
We are very proud to help and support local riders
We support and sponsor several cyclists in the surrounding area mainly in UK based triathlons, cyclocross, MTB endurance and cross country. Our athletes have won and taken numerous podium placings in several events over the last few years. Thank you for supporting the shop guys, it's a pleasure to sponsor you and share in your success.
We want to give you a sense of what these events are like to compete in so over the course of 2018 we will be publishing race write-ups by our athletes on this website after the events so please check back to see how our athletes fared and what the races were like.
We would also like to thank Kuota for sponsoring our awesome race kit and our race bikes, we're very grateful for your support and excellent products.
Come and support our riders or better still join in!
In 2018, look out for our athletes at Battle On The Beach (Pembrey), Scott Marathon (Builth Wells & Wantage), Tide 2 Tide (Pembrey), Pivot 24 Hour (Plymouth), Wild Boar Chase (Forest Of Dean), Gritfest (Llandovery), British XC Championships (Various) and more venues to be confirmed, pop into the shop to find out where we will be racing.
